Melbourne Marathon 2026 Bayside Road Closures

The 2026 Melbourne Marathon will bring temporary road closures to Brighton on Sunday 11 October, with St Kilda Street and the Esplanade closed to vehicle movements between 5am and 10am.

During this period, the usual resident access lane will be unavailable. Crossings of the marathon course will be restricted and managed according to runner movements and safety requirements. Motorists should allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes.

A detour will operate at Dendy Street, with drivers advised to follow traffic management signs and instructions from event personnel. Roads will progressively reopen when safe. For the latest information, consult the official Melbourne Marathon road closures page.
