Tom Good is having a mid-life crisis thanks to turning the ripe old age of 40.
He and his wife Barbara make the unusual decision to leave their middle class lifestyle and become completely self-sufficient. They grow their own fruit and veg, keep livestock in the backyard, make their own clothes and even generate their own electricity from manure. It’s the good life for them – but not for Margo and Jerry Leadbetter, who live next door, and are desperately trying to maintain the status quo of their fancy suburb of London.
